USD Time Deposit Promo

Earn 4.5% interest p.a. when you place at least USD 10,000 in a 150-day time deposit.

1. The USD Time Deposit Holiday Promo (“Promo”) will run from August 19 – October 31, 2024 (“Promo Period”) in all EastWest Bank (“EastWest”) branches nationwide.

2. Promo is available to new-to-bank (“NTB”) and existing-to-bank accounts/customers (“Customer/s”).             

New-to-bank customers pertain to individuals who do not have any valid deposit account (eg. savings, checking or time deposit) with EastWest prior to the Promo Period. 

3. To avail of the promo, Customer must open a US Dollar Time Deposit ("USD TD") account of at least USD 10,000 using fresh funds for a 150-day term (“Term”) within the Promo Period. 

Fresh funds refer to funds that are not withdrawn/sourced from any EastWest account, and funds must be incremental to the Customer’s overall deposit balances at time of USD TD placement.

4. The USD TD account opened and deemed qualified to avail of the Promo will earn an interest rate of at least 4.5% per annum (“Promo Rate”) subject to withholding tax of 15%.

5. NTB Customers must also open a US Dollar Savings ("USD Savings") account within the Promo Period. The USD Savings shall be the settlement account where the proceeds of the interest and the principal will be credited upon maturity.  The USD Savings account will earn the regular interest, if any, that USD Savings accounts are entitled to earn. 6. Qualified USD TD accounts that will roll-over at the end of the Term will earn interest based on regular USD Time Deposit board rates at the time of roll-over.  Please refer to https://www.eastwestbanker.com/interestrates for the updated board rates.

7. Qualified USD TD accounts must complete the Term to enjoy the Promo Rate.

8. Pre-terminated USD TD accounts will be subject to the standard pre-termination fees and charges.

9. In case of dispute arising out of or in connection with this Promo, the decision of EastWest with the concurrence of the Department of Trade and Industry ("DTI") will be final.
